Job Description:
The Financial Coordinator will primarily function to handle both the financial transactions and provide administrative support to the department. The position will be responsible for processing supplier invoices; expense reports; purchase orders; and Professional Services Agreements. This position will maintain current knowledge of, interpreting and applying, applicable University policies. The Financial Coordinator will have a strong working knowledge of working with chart of accounts and policies and protocols related to transaction coding and approval.
This position will also be responsible for providing day to day administrative services in support of the department’s operational needs. Responsibilities and tasks include: distributing mail and packages; monitoring main phone line; ordering office supplies; greeting visitors; managing the conference room calendars; assisting faculty and visitors with travel plans and expense reimbursement; and assisting faculty and researchers with shipping needs. The incumbent must be customer focused driven and responsive to requests as they arise.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree and 2-3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of skills and experience.
- Experience in an academic setting preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Customer service experience with a strong service-minded philosophy.
- Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot issues when appropriate.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment.
- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
