ICERM is a dynamic, active environment supported and managed by 14 full time professional staff and 9 directors. ICERM is one of several math institutes funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Launched at Brown University in 2010, the institute’s funding has been renewed by the NSF through 2025. Prior to that date the institute will request renewal for another 5-year grant. This stable cycle of repeat funding in 5-year increments is the typical model for successful NSF-funded math institutes.

The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing customized logistical support of an assigned portfolio of research programs; advising and solving individual requirements and issues while staying within university and sponsor funding guidelines (NSF, National Security Agency, private foundations, private donors, etc.), as well as personal budgets; planning and monitoring program timelines; acting as a main point of contact to assigned program stakeholders from the point a program is added to their portfolio; coordinating changes in program schedules; solving potential crises, and ensuring excellent customer service to ICERM internal and external customers.
