Job Description:

Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the Stores Operations Manager in performing and coordinating the daily operations of the Division’s Stockroom located on the College Hill campus. These responsibilities include issuing and delivery of stock items; shipping, receiving and delivery of materials, including biohazardous, radioactive/chemical materials, live specimens and dry ice; ordering of laboratory gasses, and related duties to support the Division operations, such as distribution of express mail. This position is responsible for the supervision of mail services (packages, letters, etc.) for the Division’s locations, coordinating staff schedules and ensuring mail is being delivered in a prioritized and timely manner.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Required: Associates degree or other specialized training following high school
  • Required: A minimum of 1-2 years’ experience, preferably in stockroom and/or shipping and receiving
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Competencies:

  • Ability to understand and comply with different requirements and regulations for handling scientific supplies, such as biohazardous, radioactive/ chemical materials and live specimens, etc.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse population, as this position interacts with a large number and variety of individuals.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates to faculty and staff who inquire about their orders either verbally or via email. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
  • Ability to frequently move about campus to other research facilities on and/or around campus.
  • Ability to frequently lift or move packages on a dolly to transport deliveries to departments on campus, up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks.
  • Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
