The Department of Government at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in public law/American politics. The position will begin on July 1, 2024. The successful candidate is expected to hold a Ph.D. in political science by the time of the appointment and to be a recent Ph.D. or early assistant professor.
The successful applicant will teach courses in constitutional law, legal studies, and American politics using historical, institutional, and theoretical perspectives. The teaching load is two courses per semester.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain an active, high quality research program and the highest standards of excellence in teaching. In addition, the applicant should be prepared to assist with the development and administration of the College’s interdisciplinary legal studies program.
