Job Description:
The Department of Communication at Fairfield University’s College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor to begin September 1, 2024. We are seeking a teacher-scholar of Communication who can instruct a variety of introductory courses; specialties in Public Speaking, Media, Sports Media, Interpersonal, Organizational and/or Health Communication

The position involves teaching 4 courses per semester. Sample courses could include Human Communication Theories, Public Speaking, Mass Media and Society, Sports Media, Family Communication, and Nonverbal Communication—to name a few. The position may also involve teaching at Fairfield—Bellarmine, our Associates Degree program located on our nearby Bridgeport campus.

Additional Information:
The Department of Communication has 10 tenured and tenure track faculty and 2 Professors of Practice. We offer three majors and minors in Communication, Sports Media, and Public Relations. We have a traditional 36-hour MA and an accelerated BA/MA. We remain one of the largest majors on campus and our courses serve general education credit. We typically serve about one quarter of all university students annually.
