Brief Position Overview
Great Falls College MSU is seeking an individual to join the team as a Biology Faculty member for Spring 2025 & Fall 2025. This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in Human Anatomy, including Anatomy & Physiology I & II, and Microbiology for the Health Sciences. Additional duties could include other biology courses. This position is an on-campus position but may include teaching some online classes. Classes are taught in 8-week and 16-week formats.

Position Details
General Statement This position provides classroom and laboratory instruction in Human Anatomy, including Anatomy & Physiology I & II, and Microbiology for the Health Sciences. The college offers many Health Science-related degrees; the previously mentioned courses are prerequisite requirements for those programs. Teaching other biology courses may be possible, as well as the option to teach summer courses based on need and contingent on enrollment. Classes are taught in 8-week and 16-week formats, and on-campus as well as online. This is an on-campus position and requires location/relocation in Great Falls, Montana. Spring 2025 & Fall 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Teaching courses relevant to the Montana University System General Education Core and prerequisite coursework for Health Science programs;
• Teaching courses using traditional and alternative delivery systems;
• Adjusting to a variety of teaching situations, including a wide range of student preparedness;
• Committing to a focus on student success;
• Participating in college committees and activities;
• Pursuing tenure per the college’s tenure process;
• Collaborating with colleagues, within the department and across campus.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1 Master’s degree in Biology or closely related field OR Master’s degree plus 9 graduate credits in Biology or closely related field;
2 Experience in course development and teaching at a post-secondary level;
3 Experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology I & II;
4 Experience in preparation and instruction of Anatomy and Physiology I & II labs;
5 Experience teaching Microbiology – lecture and labs;
6 Demonstrated commitment to student success and ability to relate well to diverse students
7 Ability to use computers and instructional technology;
8 Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
9 Demonstrated ability to work positively with teams and individuals with diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1 Teaching experience at a two-year college;
2 Online teaching experience;
3 Experience teaching in a compressed or accelerated non-standard semester schedule;
4 Experience teaching with cadavers.
