The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University is seeking a strategic, engaging, and established professional educator with a commitment to excellence in executive education as the next Program Chair of the Senior Executive Fellows (SEF) program. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean for Executive Education and in partnership with faculty, the Program Chair will lead this flagship executive education program designed to prepare senior US Federal staffers for the highest level of public service. As Program Chair and as a lead instructor, they will be responsible for architecting the successful delivery of this program and collaborating strategically with university faculty, staff, and external partners to deliver an unparalleled experience for SEF’s diverse learners.

The Program Chair is an experienced, adaptable, and strategic leader with evident expertise in public administration, policy, and leadership and organizational management. The Program Chair will possess strong teaching skills, proven and extensive leadership experience, and an ability to generate visibility and excitement about SEF. The Program Chair is an innovative community builder and collaborative leader with significant experience in program planning and delivery. The ideal candidate for this role will bring a combination of US Federal professional experience and substantial academic / teaching experience in the adult education space. They will be motivated and inspired to advance the leadership and professional skills of the US government workforce. They will be skilled in connecting with a diverse range of participants from many backgrounds and will thrive in the lead program role.
