Dean, School of Health Sciences and Human Performance

Ithaca College

WittKieffer is proud to partner with Ithaca College (IC) as they search for a dynamic, collaborative, and strategic leader to serve as the next Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance (HSHP). All applications and nominations are welcomed.

Reporting directly to the provost, and collaborating with the deans of Ithaca’s four other schools, the dean will move the school forward in its path of excellence as it prepares students for careers of impact that help people lead healthy, satisfying, independent, and productive lives. The successful dean will be a collaborative, engaged leader with an earned terminal degree in one of the disciplines housed in the school. Administrative and leadership experience is required.

IC’s modern campus overlooks downtown Ithaca with breathtaking views of Cayuga Lake and serves just under 5,000 students, of whom approximately 1,000 are full-time students in the graduate or undergraduate degree programs in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance. The school is known for its practical approach, and its students graduate with substantial experience in the field having served the residents of the city and town of Ithaca, as well as the college itself. The school produces a pass rate of 95% on professional licensure and certification exams and is proud to offer a graduate degree in physician assistant studies whose emphasis is on serving minority/underserved patients.

IC students are known to be caring, committed, and collaborative with each other. Faculty and staff have a deep, abiding commitment to their students and research. HSHP offers its next dean the exciting opportunity to lead a growing school that continues to be at the forefront of healthcare education and advocacy. They will set a strategic course for leadership in the health sciences, building on the recent addition of two new pathways as well as the anticipated transitions to doctoral programs on the near horizon.

At the minimum, the successful candidate will possess an earned terminal degree in one of the disciplines represented in the school.

Applications should include, as separate documents, a CV or resume and a letter of interest addressing the themes in the leadership profile. WittKieffer is assisting Ithaca College in this search. For fullest consideration, candidate materials should be received by December 8, 2023. The anticipated salary range for this role is $200,000 to $230,000.

Application materials should be submitted using WittKieffer’s candidate portal.
