Job Summary

Kutztown University is seeking two temporary Residence Coordinators only for the Spring semester, through the end of May 2026. This position is not eligible for benefits.

The Residence Coordinator is a member of the Office of Residence Life, Housing, and Dining Services within the Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs. The Residence Coordinator is supervised by the Executive Director of Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services and is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of a residential area.

The Residence Coordinator is responsible for running their own residence hall. This includes providing the day-to-day supervision of hall student staff, advising Hall Council, providing an educational discipline process for both residents and student staff, actively supporting the student staff in meeting the goals of the Programming Model, and participating in housing processes and procedures. The Residence Coordinator resides on campus and is available to assume evening and weekend responsibilities. While on duty the Resident Coordinator may work closely with Public Safety, Police Services, custodial staff and other University departments.

The Residence Coordinator serves as a direct supervisor of Resident Directors and is involved in their academic progress in the graduate course work, as well as their growth and development within the position. Supervision includes, but not limited to, daily contact, guidance in hall operation, hall staff and community development, hall goal setting, programming, judicial processes, facility management, assessment and crises intervention.

The Residence Coordinator performs the duties necessary to maintain the efficient functioning and monitoring of all facilities within the area. These duties include, but are not limited to, inventory control, processing maintenance work orders, damage assessment, charging for damages and monitoring key control systems. The Residence Coordinator is responsible for efficient openings and closings of the residence halls within their area.

There will be opportunities for the Residence Coordinator to serve as the advisor to one of the departments large student groups, the Residence Hall Association (RHA), The National Residence Hall Honorary, or Bearfest.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working in Residence Life and Housing
  • Commitment to and knowledge of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Ability to work with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Skills in crisis intervention, and policy enforcement
  • Experience serving in an on duty rotation
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize among competing needs
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in advising a student group

The starting salary for this position is $24.26 an hour, based on the SCUPA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
