Job Summary:
The Miami University (Oxford, OH) Center for Career Exploration and Success (CCES) seeks a strategic and collaborative Director of Career Education and Inclusion who is responsible for creating and executing dynamic strategies for career education and inclusion across all CCES stakeholders and especially for students, employers and CCES staff. This position’s duties serve as a key component to the Career Center’s goals and is a member of the CCES Leadership Team. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice President, the Director will set career development strategy for student populations which would especially benefit from proactive support, provide inclusion training for CCES staff, and assist employers in their efforts to recruit from multiple student populations. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with the Division of Enrollment Management’s Current Student Communications team to create strategies for CCES marketing. This position will work collaboratively with the CCES Leadership Team to benchmark and create innovative and data-informed approaches to programming and student outreach.

The salary range for the position is $85,000 – $100,000. Occasional weekend and evening obligations are a component of this position.

This position is campus-based but may have the option to work remotely on a hybrid basis (1-2 days/week) following an introductory period. Remote work is not a right, but a working arrangement that can be modified or revoked by Miami University at any time for any reason.

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: As a member of the CCES senior leadership team, focus efforts on facilitating career-related inclusion strategies for CCES across all stakeholders in a global context. Collaborate with internal and external partners to foster a culture of collaboration. Hire, train and develop Career Education and Inclusion staff consisting of two assistant directors and a Senior Associate Director. Develop and implement CCES inclusion staff training 6-9 times per year

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION: Inform the work of the Enrollment Management and Student Success Current Student Communications team on the comprehensive CCES needs for marketing and communication. In collaboration, help determine the timeline of emails, social media content and other marketing mechanisms serving as the career development expert for these partnerships. Help to oversee CCES Marketing and Communication student interns, assign meaningful tasks, and provide performance feedback. Seek support from CCES staff for completion of certain projects such as videos and website changes. Learn, leverage, and foster usage of certain technologies such as Slate, ClickUp (project management), CANVAS, and Handshake to execute tasks.

PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION: Collaboration is a key aspect of this role. The Director will facilitate teamwork with other CCES units as well as within Miami’s Career Community (on-and-off-campus). Bridge gaps between students, campus partners, and employers by organizing meetings, advisory boards and events that promote career equity for all student populations. Partner with the CCES Employer Relations Team to maintain and launch initiatives to support employer’s inclusive recruitment goals, enhance international opportunities for students, and strive to eliminate equity gaps in students’ career pursuits. Develop data and assessment plans to inform strategies and gauge effectiveness of inclusive excellence and marketing efforts. Collaborate with all CCES staff to embed inclusive excellence in the work and purpose of CCES. Share oversight of Peer Career Coaching Team.

CAREER READINESS: The director works closely with undergraduate and graduate students who self-align to a particular affinity group to develop experiences and competencies that will foster career mobility following graduation. Through educational marketing messages and via the Peer Career Coaching program, promote high impact career mobility practices to students. Through the supervision of the Assistant Director of Career Education and Inclusion and in collaboration with the Director of Career Development and team, strategically direct the vision and duties of the Peer Career Coaches.

MISCELLANEOUS: The director will actively participate in meetings, events and professional development activities and take on other responsibilities as assigned. This will involve leveraging data, presenting at conferences, submitting nominations for awards, and assisting in the coordination of office-wide special events, programs, workshops, and career fairs, and other events as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight years of experience in higher education, business, leadership, or related field.

Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree with 5 years of experience higher education, business, leadership or related field.
