Montclair State University (Montclair) seeks a student-centric and innovative senior-level administrative leader to serve as the inaugural Vice Provost (VP) for Undergraduate Education, Success, and Academic Innovation.

The Vice Provost (VP) for Undergraduate Education, Success, and Academic Innovation is a new senior leadership position responsible for advancing undergraduate education, student success initiatives, and academic innovation strategies at Montclair State University while also supporting university-wide efforts to increase student sense of belonging. Directly reporting to the Provost & Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Junius J. Gonzales, M.D., M.B.A., the VP will design, develop, and lead in this newly created position as the University engages in innovative approaches to undergraduate education, student success, academic innovation, and data-driven decision-making.
The VP will lead a team of approximately six direct reports, overseeing the areas of Undergraduate Education and Academic Policy; Educational Opportunity and Equity Programs; Academic Success and Tutoring; and Experiential Education and Career Connections while building the new Center for Teaching and Academic Innovation and the Assessment and Evaluation unit from the ground up.
Montclair State University’s inaugural Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, Success, and Academic Innovation will be a student-centric team leader with experience in the areas of undergraduate academic programs, student retention and persistence, innovation for teaching and learning, initiatives to support positive post-degree outcomes, and leading and managing positive change for diverse student bodies. A doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited institution is required along with a record of progressive leadership responsibilities and substantive administrative experience in an area related to academic innovation and student success in higher education.
