Assistant Professor, Social / Personality Psychology

The Department of Psychological Sciences at the University of Missouri, Columbia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of Social/Personality Psychology. A PhD in Psychology is required by the time of appointment, August 1, 2024.

Scholars with any substantive focus within the fields of social and personality are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in applicants who will broaden and diversify existing departmental empirical and/or methodological perspectives. Areas of potential interest include, but are not limited to, personality processes and individual differences, emotion, well-being, attitudes and social cognition, intergroup processes, person perception, or the self, and/or methods such as social neuroscience, psychophysiology, or cross-cultural comparison. The ideal candidate will be committed to excellence in research, teaching, and mentorship, and will demonstrate an ability to contribute to the department’s missions to train a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body, promote an inclusive department environment, and engage with an increasingly diverse broader community.
