The Niagara County Community College Board of Trustees seeks confidential nominations and expressions of interest for the College’s next president. President William Murabito, who has served as the College’s seventh president since 2019, will retire on June 30, 2024. The successful candidate will build on the accomplishments the College has made under the leadership of President Murabito and lead the institution as it continues to evolve to meet the needs of the students to provide quality educational programs and services to residents of Western New York.
Niagara County Community College (NCCC) was created in 1962 and is one of 30 community Colleges operating under the State University of New York (SUNY). NCCC has two locations. The Sanborn Campus is located minutes from Buffalo, and the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute (NFCI) is in the heart of one of North America’s biggest tourist destinations in Niagara Falls, New York.
Today, NCCC has over 4,200 students enrolled in over 60 programs of study. Many more learners take advantage of the College’s extensive credit-free courses, short-term vocational programs, and the College’s many cultural and social events. NCCC supports a shared governance system with a ten-member appointed Board of Trustees. The NCCC president reports to the Board of Trustees and oversees the operation of the college along with the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Student Services, and a Student Government Association (SGA) representative elected by the students.
The College is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to serve as President, guiding the institution to new heights of excellence and fostering a culture of innovation, diversity, and community engagement. The new president will work with the Board of Trustees and the College community in a collaborative process to create the next Strategic Plan as a roadmap for the next three to five years. The successful candidate will have significant and progressively responsible administrative experience in education, a demonstrated passion for higher education and its students, and a commitment to the mission of a comprehensive community college.
