Position Summary Information

Summary
Lead a dynamic and comprehensive team of professionals dedicated to outreach, engagement and innovation in the areas of development, fundraising and alumni relations. Provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of fundraising including annual giving, planned giving, major gift giving, alumni giving and corporate foundation relationships. Demonstrate a commitment to and excitement for the mission of Northeast Ohio Medical University, its students, faculty and staff and their exceptional experience.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic plan for institutional advancement, aligned with the University’s mission and goals. Provide visionary leadership to the advancement team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the institution. Inspire, lead and transform prospective donors, alumni, colleagues, senior leadership, faculty, staff, students and the community to encourage them to engage with NEOMED.

Fundraising and Development: Lead the planning and implementation of comprehensive fundraising campaigns, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, multi-year strategies and capital campaigns. Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, alumni, foundations, and corporate partners. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities to support the University’s priorities and initiatives.

Alumni Relations: Oversee the development and execution of programs and activities that engage alumni and build strong, lasting relationships. Manage a growth campaign in alumni membership and alumni giving.

Team Management and Development: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of advancement professionals, fostering professional growth and development. Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values diversity and encourages creativity.

Board and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with the Board of Trustees and other key stakeholders to support advancement initiatives. Provide regular updates and reports on advancement activities, progress, and outcomes. Engage board members in fundraising efforts and leverage their networks and expertise. Serve as a primary liaison to the Board of Trustees for the Institutional Advancement Committee by providing quarterly updates related to the Foundation as well as on an as-needed basis.

NEOMED Foundation: Work with and lead the Foundation’s Board in their understanding of how the Foundation will be re-imagined to create new partnerships, to identify alternative revenue sources, and to rethink how it conducts its business in support of the University’s strategic plan. Serve as the primary contact for the Foundation’s investment consultants and external audit firms. Represent the NEOMED Foundation, where necessary, at University, community and development events including meetings, committees and/or other related groups to communicate information regarding the Foundation and its initiatives.

Budget Management: Prepare and be accountable for the budgets of the NEOMED Foundation and the Office of Advancement at NEOMED.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience
• Progressively responsible senior-level experience in administration with demonstrated ability and successful track record of planning, executing and successfully closing significant major and principal gifts
• Familiarity with donor and alumni information systems, i.e., Raiser’s Edge

Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Vice President in an institute of higher education.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
