The Department of Analytics and Information Systems in OHIO’s College of Business (COB) is recruiting for a Chairperson of the AIS Department at the tenured rank of Associate or Full Professor. Consideration will be given to individuals with a strong record of teaching, research and demonstrated leadership. This position is in-person, on campus, in beautiful Athens, Ohio and is set to begin July 1, 2024, although the start date is somewhat flexible and may be negotiated for the right candidate. For full consideration, applicants must apply online by March 17, 2024 at https://www.ohiouniversityjobs.com/postings/43332.

The OHIO COB is renowned for its emphasis on experiential learning and student engagement, and prides itself on its supportive and inclusive learning environment for students. As such, our next successful Chair should encourage and support both instructional and tenure track faculty across teaching, research and other scholarly activities. This person should have good interpersonal skills and an entrepreneurial spirit and, as a proponent of servant leadership, passionately advocate for the department’s curricular and development initiatives. Our ideal candidate will not just have the ability to relate to Management Information Systems (MIS) and Business Analytics faculty, students and stakeholders, but will also be adept in matters related to the burgeoning fields of AI and cybersecurity, as well as the more traditional foundational areas of IT project management and strategic use of information systems.

Our next AIS Chair will be a leader in the COB with the ability to articulate and implement a strategic vision for AIS, and will strive to foster industry engagements, projects, internships, and networking opportunities to advance our students and reputation on the world stage. This person will understand and work to promote and support a culture of research for students and faculty, while recognizing and advancing our graduates to important practice roles in industry. The AIS Chair will also work extensively with our AIS Advisory Board to identify, address and synchronize evolution of AIS curriculum with the needs of industry. In short, this person will lead our students and faculty to continued and next-level success across academics and industry.
