Seton Hill University invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in the School of Education and Applied Social Sciences beginning in August 2024. Seton Hill’s undergraduate program offers students dual teacher certification, Pre-K to Grade 4 and Special Education Pre-K to Grade 12, presented with an outstanding liberal arts degree. Graduate degrees are offered in Special Education, Innovative Instruction, and Critical and Cultural Literacy. Requirements:
- Doctorate in Special Education
- Higher education teaching experience, graduate level a plus
- K-12 special education teaching experience
- Special Education Teaching certification
- Other teaching certification a plus
Qualifications:
Requirements include an earned doctorate in special education, three years K-12 special education teaching experience, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Use of technology to enhance teaching is required. The ideal candidate has expertise in special education instructional methodologies, including universal design for learning approaches for individuals with mild to moderate and/or moderate to severe/profound disabilities and writing an IEP. Expertise in instructional methodology, knowledge of or experience in working with English-language learners, knowledge of or experience with Middle States or similar accreditation, ability to do graduate program coordination and experience with quality online delivery systems is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include teaching in undergraduate and graduate level programs in special education on campus and online, advising, conducting research, participating in university/community service activities, and initiating partnerships with community agencies and schools for our School of Education students.
