Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, management, and development for the instructional programs in the Division
- Address issues that arise within the Division relating to personnel, facilities, equipment, curriculum, team building, and scheduling
- Work closely with faculty to support a strong teaching and learning experience for students and faculty which includes development of curriculum and application of up-to-date methods of instruction, including computer-assisted instruction and distance learning
- Guide and support faculty in their efforts to develop and assess student learning outcomes at course, program, and institutional level
- Coordinate preparation of catalog, schedule, and brochure materials for the Division
- Plan and administer the Division budget
- Direct the tenure review and evaluation processes for all Division faculty and staff
- Collaborate actively and cooperatively with other administrators to address College-wide concerns
- Write grant proposals, manage Division grants, and prepare required reports
- Serve on designated College and District committees
- Manage the Division Office and other services to assist faculty and students
- Collaborate with other College divisions and services, advisory committees, student groups, and appropriate off-campus institutions and groups
- Establish and maintain mutually beneficial ties with industry, local high schools, and the local community
- Participate in implementation of staff development programs for Division faculty and staff
- Administer collective bargaining agreements for Division faculty and classified staff
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Instruction
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Master’s degree or above from an accredited institution OR the equivalent
- One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrative assignment
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff

- Successful college teaching experience in a discipline that is taught in the Division and/or a demonstrated appreciation for the disciplines taught in the Division.
- Evidence of involvement, initiative, and leadership in instructional activities.
- Ability to develop, organize, and coordinate diverse instructional programs to achieve College and Division goals.
- Ability to elicit and bring focus to recommendations from faculty and staff to effectively represent the Division goals at College and District levels.
- Ability to recognize and encourage innovative and equity-centered practices.
- Organizational skills to facilitate the development and administration of curriculum, student learning outcomes, program review, budget, staff development, and performance evaluation.
- Ability to manage the Division office and effectively work with faculty and staff.
- Ability to facilitate problem solving between departments and programs in the Division.
- Awareness of and commitment to the goals of shared governance.
- Demonstrated ability to write grant proposals, manage Division grants, and prepare required reports.
- Evidence of organizational skills, including prioritization and delegation.
- Commitment to support, develop, and implement instructional programs and academic support centers.
- Demonstrated understanding of supporting and facilitating online teaching and use of learning technologies appropriate to the subject area(s) of the Division.
- Experience in or willingness to support, develop, implement and assess outcomes of programs that lead to the success of all students, including underrepresented groups.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and their implementation.
- Experience in articulating curriculum and programs with both university and high school faculty.
- Demonstrated ability to form and maintain community and industry partnerships.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff and administration to plan and implement facilities modifications.
- Skill in respectful, tactful and sensitive interaction with people who are diverse in their academic, socioeconomic, ethnic, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ backgrounds.

Foreign Education completed outside of the United States must be deemed equivalent to that gained in conventional/accredited U.S. education programs in order for it to be considered for the satisfaction of minimum qualifications. Foreign transcripts must be translated and evaluated by a U.S.-based credentials evaluation service. The District currently accepts evaluations from agencies approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
