Job Description:
The student affairs coordinator provides guidance and administrative support for financial affairs, human resources, courses, and student affairs, proactively working with the manager to identify and recommend effective solutions for creating and implementing policies, procedures, tools, and systems for operational efficiency.
The coordinator serves as a fiscal and academic liaison to faculty, students, visitors, and other staff, providing guidance and resolution, where needed, for day-to-day financial transactions and educational actions in accordance with Brown University policies and sponsor regulations. This position incorporates DIAP knowledge into daily work and decisions.
This position is classified as hybrid-eligible, which means the department may offer a flexible work arrangement combining both remote and in-office work. Employees in this role have the opportunity to work from home for part of the week and at our office on designated days.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years of related experience or a combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with or proven ability to learn Apple computers, Microsoft Word/Google Docs, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Workday, and Banner
- Knowledge of general office practices and basic financial principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality
- Must be resourceful, adaptable, motivated, and able to handle multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
