Assistant Professor in Anatomy Education

The Department of Biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track teaching faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Anatomy Education. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to teach human anatomy as an integral part of a dedicated and collaborative team that oversees the Department’s Undergraduate Anatomy Program. This program serves as the largest anatomy lab-based course in the state of Alabama providing hands-on instruction to a vibrant student body. Anticipated start date is August 15, 2024. Required Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in anatomical sciences or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in classroom teaching and track record of excellence in undergraduate instruction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in teaching cadaver-based human anatomy.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse pre-health majors.
  • Experience with large enrollment classes
  • A strong interest in evidence-based pedagogies and strategies to increase classroom engagement and inclusivity.
