RANK: Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor of Management Science
ABOUT THE POSITION: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for a clinical assistant or associate professor in management science with an emphasis on operations and/or supply chain management. We seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving as part of a collaborative and intellectually curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high-tech community.
Responsibilities: Effectively teach courses in supply chain management, as well as other courses in operations, analytics, or project management, in graduate and undergraduate programs in face-to-face or online modes as needed by the college. Oversee and facilitate labs, practicum courses, course-based projects, and/or internships that give students the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience. Participate in the profession, university service, and outreach to the local community. Seek external funding for programs and projects. Conduct and publish quality applied research in a collegial environment where both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaborations are valued.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in supply chain management, operations, industrial engineering, or a closely related field is required. Demonstrated success in teaching in an AACSB-accredited business program is required. We prefer candidates who have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and maintain scholarly or professional activities sufficient to meet the college’s AACSB qualification standards; candidates who have the ability and commitment to engage with businesses, organizations, and federal agencies in the region; and candidates who can lead community-oriented projects related in the areas of supply chain management, operations, and advanced manufacturing. A track record of engagement with the business community is a plus. Appointment at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor requires experience and qualifications that merit appointment at that rank according to the college’s standards.

ABOUT THE COLLEGE: The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International and has approximately 35 tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty, 30 part-time faculty, 1,050 undergraduate students, and 350 graduate students. The college offers a BSBA degree with majors in accounting, analytics, finance, information systems, management, and marketing; a BS degree in economics and computational analysis; and six graduate degrees: an MBA, and specialized master’s degrees in business analytics, cybersecurity, human resource management, information systems, as well as supply chain management. UAH has been ranked by the NSF in recent years among the top 10 in the nation for federal funding of research in management and economics. The college hosts two centers and one office that provide outreach, service, and engagement with the greater community.
