The selected Instructor of Chemistry will be part of a team that teaches mostly undergraduate freshman and sophomore level courses (class and lab) in Chemistry for various STEM majors (General Chemistry 1 and 2) and nursing students (General, Organic, and Biochemistry or GOB). We are seeking applicants experienced in student-centered and evidence-based practices that can help close the equity gap (failure rate difference between students from historically underserved groups and traditional students). This is a nine-month non-tenure track position and governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. The successful applicant will have a start date of August 16th for the fall 2024 semester. The starting salary for this instructor position is $42,000, with higher pay and advanced instructor designation for applicants with 5 or more years of relevant teaching experience.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in chemistry or master’s degree in education with a bachelor’s degree in science.

 Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in Chemistry. Teaching experience at the College or University level. Experience with implementing evidence-based instructional practices that includes all students, decreases student failure rates, and decreases the equity gap. Experience leading teaching teams (e.g., learning assistants or undergraduate or graduate teaching assistants). Experience with incorporating feedback into your teaching (e.g., assessment of student learning, student voice, peer feedback from colleagues, etc.).
