ASSISTANT SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION COORDINATOR
Hiring Pay Scale: $28.73 – $32.09/hour

Under the general direction from the Director of Academic Achievement Services, the Assistant Supplemental Instruction (SI) Coordinator will support the SI professional staff in the management and operations of the SI program. The Assistant SI Coordinator will assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the SI program including, but not limited to, administrative support, SI leader program development, and supporting the SI Coordinator with any daily tasks as needed. The Assistant SI Coordinator will also serve as a liaison for SI at campus events, as well as assist in any outreach for the program.
The Assistant SI Coordinator will be responsible for cooperating with the SI team in the development of the SI Leaders and program administration, which includes performing observations, meeting with SI Leaders individually to discuss performance and growth opportunities, developing leader training materials, supporting the SI team and attendance and data management, and other duties as assigned.
- Must have access to reliable transportation. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working with students in higher education settings and knowledge of trends in higher education.
- Knowledge of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program as modeled after the International Center for Supplemental Instruction (ICSI) at the University of Missouri in Kansas City.
- Develops knowledge of current and theoretical models that influence the application and delivery of academic services (e.g., discipline specific; student-population specific).
- Multicultural competencies; knowledge and experience working and interacting effectively with diverse groups of staff, faculty, and student populations. A commitment to equity and to ensuring the success of underserved individuals and groups.
- Develops knowledge of specific learning theory, learning styles, affective issues, academic issues, and socio-cultural issues in applying academic support for students.
- Strong demonstrated organizational and time management skills to establish goals and prioritize workload; ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and timelines.
- Oral and written communication skills; interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to interact tactfully and diplomatically with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and organizational levels, constructively handle complaints, be flexible, work collaboratively, listen well, and engender trust.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.
- Duties may require direct contact and/or supervision of children (defined as individuals under the age of 18); completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form will be required.
