of Advancement and of the University of Memphis Foundation.

The University of Memphis are seeking a candidate to serve as Senior Vice President (SVP) of
Advancement and of the University of Memphis Foundation. The ideal SVP will be a change
agent with a proven track record of transformative leadership, adept at enhancing fundraising
programs and fostering community engagement.

This role is made for a strategic thinker who can navigate the complexities of fundraising,
contribute to the university’s strategic plan, and elevate its profile locally and nationally.
The SVP will play a pivotal role in fostering “town and gown” relations, serving as a champion for
both the institution and the local community. Utilizing innovative media and technologies, you
will enhance connections and giving with UofM alumni, students, and the broader community.
As a spokesperson for the Alumni Association, you will ensure a consistent, customer service-
driven approach to alumni and constituent inquiries.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant area and possesses a proven
record of success in senior-level leadership positions. Demonstrated experience in
leading teams toward $100 million-plus annual fundraising goals and playing a
significant role in sizable comprehensive campaigns is crucial.

Successful candidates will:

  • Lead a team overseeing philanthropy, alumni affairs, advancement services, and the
    UofM Foundation.
  • Develop and execute plans for capital and comprehensive campaigns.
  • Drive a transformative campaign effort, building on the institution’s R1 status.
  • Provide information, guidance, and support to the Board of Trustees and volunteer
    committees.
