The Johnson College of Business and Economics sees a tenure track, nine-month faculty position Assistant or Associate Professor level to teach courses in marketing and marketing analytics beginning August 16, 2025. Candidates should be comfortable with community outreach efforts and business engagement. In addition to teaching, responsibilities to the student population may include student mentoring, undergraduate research, and experiential learning. Applicants should demonstrate an enthusiastic commitment to teaching and maintaining academic qualification.

USC Upstate is seeking teacher-scholars who (i) have a commitment to excellence in teaching and working with a diverse student population and (ii) show clear potential for scholarly research and publication. USC Upstate is committed to building a faculty with expertise in student and civic engagement and active learning pedagogies, (e.g. service-learning, mentoring undergraduate research, and the scholarship of teaching, learning and application) and with teaching online or hybrid courses. USC Upstate provides extensive support for junior faculty including competitive professional-development funding, opportunities for student-faculty research collaboration, and a range of workshops and mentoring programs to develop our strengths as teacher-scholars.
The AACSB accredited Johnson College of Business and Economics currently awards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Economics/Finance, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The College also offers minors in Business Administration, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Economics as well as a dual program with University of Applied Sciences Landshut. The Johnson College is located in a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facilityin downtown Spartanburg. The College of Business and Economics has approximately 600 undergraduate students from 18 states and 11 countries.
Required Education and Experience: Candidate should posses a Ph.D in Marketing or related field with relevant coursework in marketing. Candidate must have graduated from ru1 AACSB International accredited program and be qualified as “ScholarlyAcademic” in Marketing under the AACSB 2020 standards and demonstrate a commitment to contributing to the College’s mission through excellence in teaching, student mentoring, service, and professional engagement or scholarly publications. ABD candidates with planned completion date by August 15, 2026 may also beconsidered. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference given to candidates with marketing analytics research and/or experience.
