The Johnson College of Business and Economics at the University of South Carolina Upstate is seeking a dedicated and student-caring educator to join our faculty as a full-time (9 month), Non-Tenure Track Instructor in the Department of Economics. Finance and Accounting. This position will teach a variety of accounting courses; advise students; engage with industry and business communities; help the program achieve enrollment growth; and provide service to the program, college, and university. Ideally, this position will serve as a liaison between industry and the program while helping the program achieve enrollment growth. The candidate will help identify work-force gaps and inform JCBE programs to produce career-ready graduates.

The AACSB accredited Johnson College of Business and Economics currently awards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Accounting, Economics/Finance, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Management, Marketing, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics. The College also offers minors in Business Administration, Business and Entrepreneurship, and Economics as well as a dual program with Landshut University in Germany. The Johnson College is located in a state-of-the-art 60,000 sq. ft. facility in downtown Spartanburg. Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Accounting or Business from an AACSB accredited program with at least 18 graduate hours in accounting, or equivalent. Must have the ability to teach financial and managerial accounting; and must demonstrate a contribution to the College’s mission through service and business engagement. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues and students. The ability to teach upper division courses in audit and/at tax, and online as well as traditional classes is desirable. A successful background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant senior level industry experience
- Some teaching experience at the university level
- The ability to teach upper division courses in audit and/or tax
- Online teaching experience
