The Mary Black College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate is pleased to accept applications for Professional and Tenure Track faculty to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, depending on credentials, in both classroom and clinical areas on the Spartanburg campus. The selected candidate will participate and/or lead in scholarly endeavors and actively participate in service activities at the College, university, and professional levels. This posting is used for accepting applications for Instructor (non-tenure-track), Assistant Professor, and Associate Professor (tenure-track). Please see the minimum qualifications for specific requirements.
Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Nursing is required as the minimum academic preparation for the Instructor level (non tenure-track) and a Doctoral degree in Nursing is required for Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure-track). To qualify for the rank of Associate Professor, candidates must also have at least five years of relevant post-doctoral experience by the start date of the appointment, and a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service that meets the College’s criteria for promotion (available upon request). Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in South Carolina is required. Some positions may require pre-employment drug screening (policy HR 1.95). A successful background check is required.
