The Department of Government and Politics at Wagner College invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty appointment in Sports Administration, beginning Fall 2024. Pending budgetary approval, it is anticipated there will be a search for a tenure-track position and the person in this visiting role will be encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will hold a doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or a doctorate or other terminal degree in related field, and be passionate about teaching and research.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach SA 102: Financial Decision Marking for Non-Profits, as well as a wide variety of sport management/administration courses (e.g., sports marketing, sports finance, e-sports, etc.), design curriculum, assist with the establishment of internship opportunities for undergraduate students, provide strong academic advisement, and supervise internships. In addition to a successful teaching record at the undergraduate level, we seek candidates with an original research agenda that complements and enhances their teaching.
- Teach 3 courses per semester (Fall and Spring)
- Collaborate in developing curriculum and establishing new course offerings
- Advise and mentor students pursuing the undergraduate degree in sports administration Participate in departmental functions and college-wide services
- Pursue scholarly activities
- Teach in the College’s First Year Program
- Earned doctorate in Sports Management/Administration or doctorate or terminal degree in a related field. ABD considered.
- Potential for excellence in teaching at the college level
- Evidence of research activity and scholarship

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $65,000. Wagner College considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
