Upon assuming his new role on July 1, Dr. Arthur will become the first Black president of La Sierra University. He has served as provost of Andrews University in Michigan for the past eight years.

Renee Middleton was appointed to a new, five-year term as dean of the Patton College of Education at Ohio University in Athens. She has served in this post since 2006.

The Rutgers University campus in Newark, New Jersey, was deemed to have the most diverse student body in the country among large national universities. Blacks make up 18 percent of the enrollments at the Newark campus.

According to U.S News & World Report, the Newark campus of Rutgers University was rated as the most diverse in the country. Andrews University, Stanford University, St. John's University, and the University of Houston tied for second place.
