Tony D. Hawkins Appointed President of Broome Community College in Binghamton, New York

Dr. Hawkins has served for the past eight years as the provost and executive vice president of academic affairs, continuing education, and workforce development at Frederick Community College in Maryland. Prior to this role, he was the college-wide dean of humanities at Montgomery College in Maryland.

Frederick Community College in Maryland Has Chosen Annessa Cheek as Its Next President

Dr. Cheek has served as president of St. Cloud Technical and Community College in Minnesota since 2018. From 2014 to 2018, she was vice president of school and community partnerships at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. She had been on the staff at that college since 2006.

New Adminstrative Posts in Higher Education for Four African Americans

The new appointees are Terry L. Mills at John Carroll University in Ohio, Alanka Hayes Brown at Frederick Community College in Maryland, Derek Horne at Alcorn State University in Mississippi, and Endia Beal at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina.

Federico Talley Ousted as President of Frederick Community College

Dr. Talley assumed the presidency of the community college just six months ago. He was the first African American to hold the post.

Since 2005, Frederico Talley has served as vice president and dean of the Leonardtown campus of the College of Southern Maryland.
