Dr. Pierce Burnette was named president in 2015. She is the first woman to hold the position since the 1952 merger of Tillotson College and Samuel Huston College. She will pass the baton of leadership on June 30.
Since 2018, Dr. Williams has been serving as a professor of mathematics education and chair of the department of teacher education at Georgia College and State University. Earlier, she taught at Kennesaw State University in Georgia for 11 years.
The five Black faculty members in new roles are Khiara M. Bridges at Boston University, Beauty Bragg at Georgia College and State University, Yolanda Jackson at the University of Kansas, Bryan Monroe at Temple University, and Juan Gilbert at the University of Florida.
