Five African Americans Appointed to New Administrative Posts in Higher Education
The appointees are Sentwali Bakari at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, Michael A. Nutter at the University of Chicago, Sherie Cornish Gordon at Albany State University, Will Sutton at Grambling State University, and Darryl C. Wilson at the Stetson University College of Law.
Haywood B. Joiner Jr. to Lead Louisiana State University-Alexandria
Dr. Joiner, who will become interim chancellor in late August, is chair of the department of allied health at the university. He has also been serving as interim chair of the department of business administration at the Alexandria campus.
The HBCU Challenge Looks to Collect Books for Prison Libraries
Grambling State University in Louisiana, has issued the HBCU Challenge to other historically Black college and universities to conduct book drives for prisons in their states.
