Taking on new dean assignments are Richard Sévère at Purdue University Northwest in Indiana, Monica Carson Sheriff at Hollins University in Virginia, Christopher Jenkins at Lawrence University in Wisconsin, and Agya Boakye-Boaten at the State University of New York at Geneseo.

Taking on new administrative roles are Iris A. Elijah at Florida A&M University, Marques D. Graham at Wiley University in Marshall, Texas, ZeNai Brooks at Martin University in Indianapolis, and Gary L. Brown at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

The new Black administrators are Brandon Harris at the University of Southern California, Lillian Wanjagi at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina, Chanel Derricott at Virginia Union University, Tiffani Dawn Sykes at Florida A&M University, Anita B. Walton at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia, Kareem D. Kenney at Talladega College in Alabama, and Nicole McDonald at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina

Since 2014, Dr. Hinton has served as president of the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota. Before becoming president at the College of St. Benedict, Dr. Hinton was vice president for academic affairs at Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York.

The president of Hollins University, a liberal arts educational institution for women in Roanoke, Virginia, removed online access to four of the university's yearbooks. Those particular issues of the university's yearbooks contain photos of students and faculty in blackface or have other racist imagery.

Natasha Trethewey, the Board of Trustees Professor of English at Northwestern University, has been named one of two new chancellors of the American Academy of Poets. Since it was formed in 1946, only 115 poets have been elected to the academy.

Taking on new roles are Amy Freeman at Penn State, Juana Mendenhall at Morehouse College, Cynthia Blair at the University of Illinois-Chicago, Lawrence Bobo at Harvard University, Princess U II Imoukhuede at Washington University, Dwana Waugh at Sweet Briar College, and Diane Edison at Hollins University.

Natasha Trethewey, the Board of Trustees Professor of English at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, has been selected to receive the Heinz Award in the Arts and Humanities. The award comes with an unrestricted $250,000 prize. She will be honored in Pittsburgh on October 18.

Adia Harvey Wingfield, a professor of sociology at Washington University in St. Louis, was named president-elect of the Sociologists for Women in Society, an organization dedicated to improving the social position of women through feminist sociological research and writing.

Natasha Trethewey is the Robert W. Woodruff Professor of English and Creative Writing and the director of the creative writing program at Emory University. She is the former poet laureate of the United States.

The new appointees are Simeon Ananou at the University at Albany, Tyrone A. Parham at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Nicole Whitehead at Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and Jason D. Hamilton at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.
