The Black AIDS Institute has partnered with Jarvis Christian University, Johnson C. Smith University, LeMoyne-Owen College, and Voorhees University to educate Black Americans about HIV/AIDs treatment and care.

HBCUv, a new online learning platform for HBCU students, faculty, and staff, is designed to mirror the authentic, culturally affirming, and supportive environments found on HBCU campuses.

Regina Stovall Robinson has been named interim provost at Jarvis Christian University in Texas and Eric Buckles has been named interim provost at Dillard University in New Orleans.

The six African Americans in new administrative posts are Patrice Moorer at the University of West Florida, Anton Goff at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, Joy Milfort at Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland, Michael Ray Bradley, Jr. at Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, Texas, Yolanda Pollard at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Jeffrey L. Clark at the University of Georgia.

A native of Booneville, Texas, Sterling applied to Texas A&M University in the early 1960s but was denied admission. But in 1963 he and two other Black students were allowed to enroll in summer sessions. There, he earned credits that went toward his bachelor's degree at historically Black Texas Southern University.

Historically Black Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, Texas, has entered into an agreement with Tyler Junior College that will allow for seamless transition into bachelor's degree programs at the university for Tyler Junior College graduates. Tyler Junior College enrolls just under 12,000 students. Blacks make up 16 percent of the student body.

Six historically Black colleges and universities are receiving grants from the African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund of the National Trust for Historial Preservation to preserve historic buildings on campus.

Cynthia Hester was named interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, Texas, and Rhonda Porter was promoted to interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at Albany State University in Georgia.

Taking on new administrative duties are Art Malloy at the University of North Dakota, Sheryl Huggins Salomon at New York University, Larry J. Pannell at Jarvis Christian University in Hawkins, Texas, Karen Peart at Yale University, Ka’Lisa Stanfield at Alabama A&M University, and Ndidi Akuta at Fort Valley State University in Georgia.

The new administrators are Zakiya Brown at Lincoln University in Missouri, Larz Roberts at the University of Mississippi, Quincy Rose-Sewell at Pueblo Community College in Colorado, Ashli Johnson at Howard University, Darrin Q. Rankin at Jarvis Christian Univerity, Deborah Mauristhene at Boston College, and Kendric D. Stewart at Southern Unversity.
