The three Black scholars who have been appointed to named professorships are Regina Stevens-Truss at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, Fousseni Chabi-Yo in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Evelynn Hammons at Spelman College in Atlanta.
Three African American Women Who Have Been Appointed to Endowed Professorships
Elizabeth West was appointed to the John B. and Elena Diaz-Verson Amos Distinguished Chair in English Letters at Georgia State University. Regina Stevens-Truss was appointed the Dorothy H. Heyl Senior Endowed Chair in Chemistry at Kalamazoo College and Deondra Rose was named the Kevin D. Gorter Associate Professor at Duke University.

Taking on new roles will be Sydney Freeman Jr. at the University of Pennsylvania, Regina Stevens-Truss at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, and Kwame Amoah at the University of Cincinnati.

They are: Reighan A. Gillam at the University of Southern California, Barbara D. Savage of the University of Pennsylvania, Todne Thomas at Harvard University, Sandra Crewe of Howard University, and Kyla Day Fletcher of Kalamazoo College.
Eileen Wilson-Oyelaran, President of Kalamazoo College, to Retire
Dr. Wilson-Oyelaran has served as the 17th president of the college since July 2005. A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Wilson-Oyelaran taught at the University of Ife in Nigeria for 14 years before returning to the U.S. in 1988.
Appointment News: Five African Americans Assuming New Administrative Roles
The appointees are James A. Felton III at Anne Arundel Community College, Charles Gaines at the University of Arkansas, David Fryson at West Virginia University, Mia Henry at Kalamazoo College and Rodney D. Chism at Fayetteville State University.
