General Ronnie D. Hawkins Chosen to Lead Angelo State University in Texas
When General Hawkins takes office on August 14, Hawkins will be the first African American to serve as president of Angelo State University in its 92-year history. A retired three-star Air Force general, he is the former director of the Defense Information Systems Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland.
College Dean Appointed to the Boston School Committee
Martin J. Walsh, mayor of Boston, has appointed Regina Robinson to serve on the Boston School Committee. Robinson is dean of student affairs at Cambridge College. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia.
African American Teenager Is the Youngest Qualified Barrister in British History
At the age of 18, Gabrielle Turnquest of Windemere, Florida, passed the Bar Professional Training Course to become a qualified barrister in England and Wales. She is now studying fashion industry management in Los Angeles.
