Since 2019, Dr. Williams has been serving as president of Nassau Community College in Garden City, New York. Earlier, he was vice president for student affairs at North Shore Community College in Danvers, Massachusetts. Before that, he held various administrative posts at Northeastern Illinois University.
Dr. Worrill joined the faculty of the department of inner city studies at Northeastern Illinois University in 1976. He also served as the director of the university’s Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies. He retired in 2016 after serving on the faculty for 50 year.
Melvin C. Terrell, vice president emeritus at Northeastern Illinois University, was selected as the recipient of the 2020 Bobby E. Leach Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Award presented by NASPA. The award is named in honor of the first person of color to serve as NASPA president.
Currently, Dr. Dennis Rome serves as a professor and dean of the College of Letters and Sciences at Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia. Prior to that, he held various positions at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside
Before being named president at Northeastern Illinois University, Dr. Gibson was senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Earlier, she was a professor of communication and executive vice president and provost at the University of Northern Iowa.
