A member of the NASPA since 2013, Dr. Dixon was honored with the 2024 Sankofa Award for her commitment and contributions to the organization as the HBCU liaison for the Black Diaspora Knowledge Community.
Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, vice president for cultural affairs at Arizona State University and executive director of ASU Gammage, a multipurpose performing arts center on the campus of the university in Tempe, is the recipient of the 2023 Broadway League Leadership Award.
Dr. Townsend received the 2021 David Y. Gin Young Investigator Award from the American Chemical Society. The award recognizes "outstanding contributions to research in carbohydrate chemistry by scientists in the first seven years of their independent career."

Darin A. Latimore was appointed deputy dean for diversity and inclusion at the Yale School of Medicine. Joi Cunningham was promoted to assistant vice president for human resources at Oakland University and Taffye Benson Clayton was named vice president for inclusion and diversity at Auburn University.
Marcus Belgrave, an accomplished trumpet player, taught at the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in Ohio from 2001 to 2010. Earlier, he launched the jazz program at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.
Taking on new administrative roles are Evelyn A. Edney at Delaware State University, Glenn McIntosh at Oakland University in Michigan, Teese Brunson at Voorhees College in South Carolina, Jacqueline Higgs Caldwell at the University of Tulsa, and Rayton Sianjina at Fort Valley State University in Georgia.
Peter Edmund Millet is the new president of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He is the only the sixth president in the college's 136-year history. Previously, he was provost and vice president for academic affairs at the college.
