Tim Beard will become Florida A&M University's interim president on August 5, following the recent resignation of former president Larry Robinson. Dr. Beard recently retired earlier this year after spending nine years as president of Pasco-Hernando State College.
Taking on new administrative roles are Boyd Copeland at St. Louis Community College, Alecia Shields-Gadson at Delaware State University, Reginald Wilson at Pasco-Hernando State College in Florida, Melissa Thrasher at Eastern Michigan University, Dawna Jones at Duke University in North Carolina, and Tammy A. Bagby at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Judson began his career at Pasco-Hernando State College in Florida in 1972. He became the school's first instructor, first recruiter, and first financial aid coordinator. In 1976, he was promoted to dean of East Campus and in 1994 he became the school's second president.
Dr. Beard has been on the staff at the college since 2007 and currently serves as vice president for student development and enrollment management. He will become president of the college on July 1.
