Alec Gallimore Will Be the Next Provost at Duke University

Since 2016, he has been the Robert J. Vlasic Dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. He previously served the college as associate dean for research and graduate education and associate dean for academic affairs. Dr. Gallimore founded and directs the Plasmadynamics and Electric Propulsion Laboratory at the University of Michigan

Roderic I. Pettigrew is the Robert A. Welch Professor in the Texas A&M University College of Medicine and professor of biomedical engineering in the College of Engineering. Earlier in his career, Dr. Sams was senior vice president for student development at Morehouse College in Atlanta and vice president for student life at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.

Costel Denson, a former faculty member and administrator at the University of Delaware, was the first African American student to graduate from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Alec Gallimore Named Dean of Engineering at the University of Michigan

Professor Gallimore joined the faculty at the University of Michigan in 1992. He was promoted to full professor in 2004. Dr. Gallimore is the director of the Michigan Space Grant Consortium, funded by NASA and the director of the Michigan/Air Force Center of Excellence in Electric Propulsion.

The New Dean of the College of Engineering at Howard University

Dr. Achille Messac, educated at MIT, has been serving as dean of engineering and professor of aerospace engineering at Mississippi State University. Previously, he served on the faculties at Syracuse University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
