Williams held administrative posts at Bloomfield College in New Jersey and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth before joining the staff at Rowan University in 1984. He remained on the staff at the university until 2008.

The honorees are Kingsley Odigie a postdoctoral researcher at the U.S. Geological Survey, Keisha N. Blain of the University of Iowa, Maurice Williams of Hampton University in Virginia, and Robert L. Belle Jr., a long-time educator who was recognized by Rowan University in New Jersey.

Dr. Terrence Hardee previously served as vice president for student success at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, and dean of the University Center at Cumberland County College in Vineland, New Jersey.

Monica Shealey to Lead the College of Education at Rowan University in New Jersey

When she takes office on July 1, she will be the first African American to hold the post. She has been serving as associate dean for teacher education at the School of Education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
