Howard Rambsy II was named a Distinguished Research Professor at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Alfred L. Parks was named a Regents Professor at Prairie View A&M University in Texas and Selwyn Vickers, dean of the University of Alabama at Birmingham medical school, has been given the added duties of CEO of the UAB Health System.
James T. Minor Appointed Chancellor of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Minor most recently served as assistant vice chancellor and senior strategist in the Office of the Chancellor at California State University. Prior to his post at California State University, Dr. Minor served as deputy assistant secretary at the U.S. Department of Education. He will begin his new job on March 1.

Lesley Lokko has been appointed dean of the School of Architecture at the City College of New York. Vanessa Lovelace will be the dean at Lancaster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania and Robin L. Hughes will be dean of the School of Education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Before being named president at Northeastern Illinois University, Dr. Gibson was senior vice president for academic affairs and provost at Morgan State University in Baltimore. Earlier, she was a professor of communication and executive vice president and provost at the University of Northern Iowa.

Robert C. Mock is the former president of the Charlotte campus of Johnson & Wales University. Previously, he was vice president for student affairs at the University of Kentucky.
Record Student Diversity at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
There are now 1,869 African Americans enrolled at SIUE. This is the highest number in university history. Blacks make up 13.4 percent of the student body.
