Dr. Siwatu is a professor of educational psychology who has taught at Texas Tech University for nearly 20 years. Earlier this year, he was appointed interim associate dean for academic affairs.

Tomikia LeGrande Chosen to Lead Prairie View A&M University in Texas

Since 2018, Dr. LeGrande has served as vice provost for strategic enrollment management at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. Earlier, she was vice president for strategic enrollment management at the University of Houston-Downtown. Prior to her duties in Houston, Dr. LeGrande worked at North Carolina A&T State University and Winston-Salem State University.

Four Black Women Share an Award From the Association for Women in Mathematics

The four women mathematicians sharing the award are Erica J. Graham, an associate professor of mathematics at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, Raegan Higgins, an associate professor of mathematics at Texas Tech University, Candice Price, an associate professor of mathematics and statistics at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and Shelby Wilson, a senior professional at the Applied Physics Laboratory Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Adrien Bennings Appointed the Eighth President of Portland Community College in Oregon

Adrien Bennings has been serving as president at Kellogg Community College, one of 28 community colleges in the state of Michigan. Earlier, she was the vice president of administration and finance and chief financial officer at Clovis Community College in New Mexico.

Rodney Priestley Will Be the Next Dean of the Graduate School at Princeton University

Dr. Priestley joined the Princeton faculty as an assistant professor in 2009 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles in Paris. He became an associate professor in 2015 and a full professor in 2019.

Dr. Whitfield has been serving as provost and senior vice president of academic affairs and a professor of psychology at Wayne State University in Detroit. Earlier, Professor Whitfield was vice provost for academic affairs and a professor at Duke University in Durham North Carolina.

African Americans Appointed to Dean Positions at Three Universities

Earnstein Dukes was announced as the new dean of the University Library at Texas Tech University. Oscar Barton was appointed dean of the School of Engineering at Morgan State University and Jacqueline Hill was appointed dean of the School of Education at Florida Memorial University.

Dr. Hansel Burley is currently the chair of the department of educational psychology and leadership and professor of educational psychology in the College of Education at Texas Tech University in Lubbock.

Adrien L. Bennings Will Be the Sixth President of Kellogg Community College in Michigan

Dr. Bennings has been serving as vice president for finance and administration at Clovis Community College in Clovis, New Mexico. From 2015 to 2018, she served as the director of the Small Business Development Center at Texas Tech University.

In Memoriam: Percy J. Vaughn, Jr., 1932-2018

Percy J. Vaughn, Jr. was the founding dean of Alabama State University's College of Business Administration. He joined the faculty at the university in 1975 and served as a professor of marketing until his retirement 35 years later in 2010.

Keith Whitfield Named the Next Provost of Wayne State University in Detroit

Dr. Whitfield currently serves as vice provost for academic affairs at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. There, he is also a professor of psychology and neuroscience and a research professor in the department or geriatric medicine at the medical school.
