The Center for Women within the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators was established in 2001 to bring attention to issues concerning women in higher education. Dr. Horn has served as a board member for the center for the past two years.
On July 1, Dr. Mark Brown will assume the presidency of his undergraduate alma mater, Tuskegee University in Alabama, making him the first alumnus to serve in the position. He currently serves as the inaugural president and CEO of the Student Freedom Initiative.
Over the past twenty years, Dr. James has served in both faculty and administrative positions at several universities. Most recently, he served as interim CEO of the 100 Black Men of America Inc., a nonprofit organization that hosts mentorship and community services initiatives across the country.
Dr. Pam Jackson has been on the staff at the university for almost 13 years and has been serving as interim provost since December 2017. Earlier, she was dean of the of College of Business and Economics at Fayetteville State University.
Since 2013, Dr. Holston has served as vice president for academic affairs at Lanier Technical College in Oakwood, Georgia. He holds a master's degree in leadership and organizational effectiveness from Troy University in Alabama and a doctorate in higher education leadership from Valdosta State University in Georgia.
Delmonize Smith has been a successful entrepreneur, selling his first high-tech start-up company at the age of 25. He holds a Ph.D. in management from the University of Alabama.
Dr. Simmons joined the faculty at Alabama State University in 1966 as chair of the department of music. He was named the university's first dean of the School of Music in 1972.
