Johnnie Early II, former dean of the FAMU College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, has stepped down from his role and returned to a full-time faculty position. Seth Ablordeppey, longtime FAMU professor, has been selected to serve as interim dean.

Dr. Ovbiagele's academic career has been dedicated to eliminating local and global stroke disparities, as well as mentoring medical students and researchers from underrepresented groups.

The appointments are Tonya Mitchell-Spradlin at Pennsylvania State University, Gretchen Robinson at North Carolina A&T State University, and Stephen Hancock at North Carolina A&T University.

Olusegun Samuel earned his Ph.D. in marine ecology with a concentration in ecotoxicology. Temitope Samuel's research focuses on dermatophyte, a group of fungi that causes skin diseases.

The president of Nigeria announced recently that the University of Lagos would be renamed Moshood K.O. Abiola University.
