Taking on new administrative posts are Kendall Isaac at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, Moira Poe at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Angela Graham-Williams at Xavier University in New Orleans, John Mack at Princeton University in New Jersey, Tiffany D. Tucker at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and Monique Howard at the University of Pennsylvania.

Johnson O. Akinleye has served as interim chancellor since January. He was appointed provost at the university in 2014. Earlier, Dr. Akinleye was associate vice chancellor for academic programs at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

Taking on new assignments are Chalres DeSassure at Tarrant County College, Debbie Owens at Murray State University, Kalenda Eaton at Arcadia University, Tameka Winston at Tennessee State University, Jason Mott at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, and Shennette Garrett-Scott of the University of Mississippi.

Here is this week’s news of grants to historically Black colleges and universities or for programs of particular interest to African Americans in higher education.

The appointees are Debra Bright at Montgomery College, Willie Bernard Jackson Jr. at Edward Waters College, Rosalyn Martin at UNC-Wilmington, Shelley Davis at Howard University, Dwight K. Hamilton at Smith College, and E. D'Wayne Robinson at Florida A&M University.

The appointees are W. Kent Guion at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, Meredith Evans at Washington University, Tanya Barnes-Jones at Saint Augustine's University and Lee A. McElroy Jr. at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Since 2007, Dr. Johnson O. Akinleye has been associate vice chancellor for academic programs at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He holds a Ph.D. in communications from Howard University.

The new appointees are Fran Scarlett, Sheneka Williams, Kimberly Andrews, Gwendolyn Caples, Patricia Brewer Hairston, Courtney Davenport, Dwayne White, and Tammy Brooks.
