April Bleske-Rechek of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Jukka Savolainen of Wayne State University in Detroit argue that Black students are overrepresented in U.S. medical schools because they represent a small share of top-performing high school students in Advanced Placement STEM exams.
The students ridiculed Black Male Empowerment, a student organization on campus and included a photograph of a Ku Klux Klan cross-burning ceremony with the post.
Darrell Newton will also serve as associate vice chancellor for academic affairs. Dr. Newton has been serving as associate dean in the Fulton School of Liberal Arts at Salisbury University in Maryland.
Dr. Lynn is currently the associate dean for teacher education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and previously served on the faculties of the University of Illinois at Chicago and the University of Maryland. He will begin his new duties on July 1.
