Dr. Sanders has been serving as a professor of music, chair of fine arts, and director of the B.B. King Recording Studio at Mississippi Valley State University. He has studied Chinese music and visual arts as a Fulbright Scholar.

The University System of Georgia announced that Kimberly Ballard-Washington will serve as interim president of Savannah State University, effective July 1. She currently serves as associate vice chancellor for legal affairs for the University System of Georgia.

The honorees are Esther Ngumbi, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois, Gerald Williams, interim director of the Division of Diversity and Inclusion at Valdosta State University in Georgia, and Ismail H. Abdullahi, an associate professor of library science at North Carolina Central University in Durham.

Jerry L. Hardee is the former assistant to the president for equal opportunity programs and multicultural affairs at Valdosta State University in Georgia. He will take office on July 1.

In addition to her editorial duties, Laverene Lewis Gaskins is University Attorney for Valdosta State University in Georgia. She earned her law degree at Florida State University's College of Law.

Dr. Rogers will take office on July 1. Currently, he is dean of the Lutgert College of Business at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and previously was the university's associate provost.
