The film, Bridging Ground: A Story of Sin, Grace, and Repair, follows the Virginia Theological Seminary's effort to confront its legacy with slavery. Over the past several years, the seminary has issued annual payments to living descendants of enslaved people who labored on campus some 200 years ago.

The appointments are Erica Armstrong Dunbar at Emory University in Atlanta, Kimberly Haynie at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, and Kevin Vandiver at Virginia Theological Seminary.

Dr. Lee currently serves as vice president for campus administration, associate dean for community life, and director of African American studies at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. He will become president of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary on June 7.

Income from the endowment fund for reparations will be put to use in a variety of ways, from encouraging more African American clergy in the Episcopal Church to directly serving the needs of any descendants of the enslaved Africans who worked at the seminary.
