Dr. Akande, a Nigerian-born American citizen. was president of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, from 2015 to 2017. Earlier, he had been serving as a professor of economics and dean of the School of Business and Technology at Webster University in St. Louis.
Carllos Lassiter has been serving as vice president for student affairs and dean of students at Rust College, a historically Black educational institution in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He will begin his new duties at Westminster College in July.
The appointees are Marco Barker at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, George Johnson Sr. at Claflin University in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Joseph Michael Green at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Joanna N. Ravello at the University of Rhode Island.
Benjamin Akande, a native of Nigeria, has been serving as a professor of economics and dean of the School of Business and Technology at Webster University in St. Louis. He will become the 21st president of Westminster College on July 1.
