Black Enrollments in Higher Education Expected to Continue to Grow

The United States Department of Education estimates that black enrollments in higher education will increase from 2,946,000 in 2010 to 3,646,000 in 2020. This is an increase of 23.8 percent.

The Education Department estimates that overall enrollments will increase by 11.8 percent during the period. For whites, total enrollments are expected to increase by only 1.4 percent by 2020.
